Gundars Mausevics, bass guitar player and backing vocal of BrainStorm was found dead 50 meters from his car after an accident on the way from Riga to Jelgava.
Gundars Mausevics was one of the founders of the Latvian band BrainStorm, which has been one of the most succesful Latvian music projects in the past years. In 2000, "My star" finished third at the Eurovision Song Contest and entered charts in countries all over the world.
According to the official police statement, the accident happened some days ago when Gundars was on his way from Riga to his hometown Jelgava.
I'm looking for words at the top of the mountain,
to tell you my friend that we reached the end
Things are so different - a little insane,
they will be us and maybe the sad rain
(from the song "Weekends are not my happy days")
We'd like to wish the members of BrainStorm and Gundars Mausevics' family our deepest condolences.

Schade.
