up on the ride ist echt klasse - besonders ab 3:50 min bis zum schluss. wer da nicht mitwippt, dem ist auch nicht mehr zu helfen ;)

Für mich klingt "Southern Winds" irgendwie verblüffend ähnlich nach "Scarborough Fair" von Simon & Garfunkel.

Hat sonst noch jemand diesen Eindruck?

also das sommer album fehlt bislang. wusste ich es doch, dass sie sich nicht daran halten 4 alben in diesem jahr zu bringen.
nen titel gibt es aber mit "The Guillemots’ Emporium of Fine Things" wenigstens schon mal.

Die 4 Alben in einem Jahr sind aufgrund von Zeit- und Kreativitätsmangel nicht entstanden. Ein Haufen von Alben sind aber ohnehin eine ziemlich miese Idee.

Erinnert sich nach jemand an die Green Day Trilogie letztes Jahr!

Hoffe, da wird noch was kommen!

Nachdem Walk the river 2011 mein Album des Jahres war, war ich von Hello Land letztes Jahr auch enttäuscht. Bis auf ein, zwei starke Songs war da nicht viel. Wenn jetzt gar nichts mehr kommt, fänd ich es aber auch schade.

Vielleicht sollten sie sich einfach wieder mehr Zeit nehmen fürs nächste Album...

This is Fyfe .. I just wanted to write a tiny note to all of you on here ..

I've been alerted recently to some of you feeling bewildered by our radio silence ..

So this is just to say - it's really great to know that people are so keen to hear new music from us ..

But a lot's changed since we first had the plan to put out a bunch of albums last year, and the longer this journey goes on, the more colourful it all becomes and the more extraordinary I know the whole thing can be.

The whole thing and everything ..

There's so much music out there these days and it just feels like now is the right time to take time to do something beyond and beyond and beyond and beyond ..

How, when, what, where .. all that, nobody yet knows for sure ..

But please take this post as a definitive announcement that reams of music magic are being made, that things are good, and that as soon as there is news to tell, you will be told it.

And thanks again, hugely, to all of you, for caring in the first place and for continuing to do so ..

Klingt gut. Vier Alben à la "Hello Land" wären auch nicht notwendig gewesen. Wenn jetzt ein bisschen fokussiert wird kommt vielleicht wieder eine Großtat wie "Walk The River" oder gar das Debüt.

Gerade läuft mal wieder Walk The River. Die Hello Land hab ich noch gar nicht gehört, aber ich schaff es nie, was anderes als die Walk The River anzumachen.

Die "Walk The River" ist echt sehr gut, meine liebste von Guillemots.

Ich frage mich, ob nach der "Hello Land" (die ich auch ganz passabel fand, wenngleich natürlich nicht so gut wie "Through The Windowpane" und eben "Walk The River") nun überhaupt noch was von denen kommt.

Weiß da jemand von euch was Näheres?

Mal wieder aufgelegt. Eigentlich schon eine gute Platte, jedenfalls ohne Ausfall, aber auch nur wenige Höhepunkte. Schön schwelgerische Grundstimmung aber.

Fyfe Dangerfield ist wohl weiterhin fleißig am musizieren, aber nix konkretes mit Guillemots-Bezug. Schade.

Ich werde mir die "Hello Land!" auch mal zu Gemüte führen, nachdem ich kürzlich erst die "Through The Windowpane" und "Walk The River" nach gefühlten Ewigkeiten mal wieder gehört habe.

Anlässlich seiner neuen Solo-EP hat Fyfe auch ein bisschen was zur Funkstille bei den Guillemots nach der "Hello Land" gesagt:

Dangerfield explains that the band’s under-explained hiatus is no full stop, and came as a reaction to material not meeting their high quality bar.

“We were going to do four albums in 2012 - one for each season,” Fyfe explains. “The summer record became a portal into another dimension; we realised we couldn’t put it out in the state it was in, and we started adding electronics and further instrumentation and it just ended up becoming a monster. I really didn’t want to compromise on it for the sake of meeting a schedule. So we ended up putting things on ice. That music is still unreleased and on the shelf - ageing like fine wine!”</I>

Walk the River von den Guillemots ist für mich immer noch ein herausragendes Pop/Alternative Album. Ich mag auch die anderen, hello Land allerdings am wenigsten. So what den neuen Solo-Output von Fyfe werde ich definitiv anhören. Sein Soloalbum von vor ?? Jahren mag ich auch.
