Genre-smashing Australian indie-pop crew Architecture in Helsinki haven't released an album since 2007's Places Like This, but they'll return May 3, when new LP Moment Bends arrives via the triple-label hydra of Cooperative/Downtown/Modular in the U.S. (It arrives April 11 via V2/Cooperative in the UK and April 8 via Modular in Australia). The band spent two years recording the album in their own Melbourne studio Buckingham Palace. You can download the bleepy dance-pop track "Contact High" above. That's the Moment Bends cover art up there, too.

In a press release, frontman Cameron Bird says, "Moment Bends was all about being at one with our ideas, obsessed with popular music and falling in love with our hometown. We wanted to build a record to get lost in, a record that always feels exactly what you are feeling." Sounds ambitious!

In the months ahead, they'll embark on a massive tour that'll take them across Australia, Europe, and North America. In North America, they'll tour with New York synthpoppers Hooray for Earth. Below, we've got Architecture in Helsinki's tour dates, as well as their video for "That Beep".

Für alle die "Contact High" auf Anhieb noch nicht so gut finden (ich denke mal da gibts ein paar): Gebt dem Song eine Chance, denn es ist ein Grower wie er im Buche steht ;)

Absolute Zustimmung. Grad das zweite mal auf Motor gehört und dann gleich erstmal n paar mal auf Youtube rotieren lassen. Erinnert mich allerdings auch stark an Fireflies von Owl City.

Die Rezension ist ja mal ... bösartig. Und auch unerwartet. "That Beep" und "Contact High" fand ich echt nicht schlecht ...

finde es gar nicht so schlecht, wie hier zuhauf geschrieben steht. ist zwar kein in case we die mehr, aber bis auf W.O.W. und B4 3D find ichs eigentlich alles ganz gut, ne 6/10 wär schon drin gewesen.

Dieses Album ist das erste, was ich von ihnen kenne und ich finde es nicht so übel wie in der Rezi dargestellt, im Gegenteil: 7/10.
