Das Album verdient eigentlich einen eigenen Thread. Die beste Platte von Frusciante, unglaublich vielseitig, lyrisch bemerkenswert, klingt alles sehr spontan und doch riesige Songs. Fast eine 10/10.

"Curtains" ist meiner Meinung nach mit "The Will to Death" gleichzusetzen:
Einerseits hat TWTD den sehr intensiven Einstieg "A Doubt" und schließt mit dem titelgebenden Song, der zwar wesentlich ruhiger, aber nicht minder eindrucksvoll ist, andererseits hat Curtains teilweise sehr reduzierte Stücke, "Hope" - "Time Tonight", die aber auch unter die Haut gehen...
IMO haben aber beide Alben auch "Füllmaterial" (neben natürlich hervorragenden Teilen)... so gesehen könnte man daraus ein "perfektes" Album zaubern, anstelle von zwei sehr sehr guter.

"The Will To Death" halte ich für die beste Platte aus seinem Veröffentlichungsmarathon.

Aber "To Record only Water" und "Shodows Collide with People" gefallen mir doch noch besser da Sie etwas poppiger/eingäniger sind.

the will to death ist möglicherweise wirklich sein bestes. songs wie "a loop" "the will to death" und "the days have turned" sind vorallem lyrisch bemerkenswert.

"Curtains" und "Will to death" gehören zusammen, find ich auch, die EP + Silence sind aber meine heimlichen Favoriten, Emptiness steht irgendwo isoliert als ein nicht einzuordnendes Glanzstück.
Allerdings behaupte ich das salopp von fast allen JF-s.

Seine beste, knapp vor Niandra Lades. Beide erreichen eine enorme emotionale Intensität, wenn auch mit ziemlich unterschiedlichen Mitteln.

Habs mir gestern gekauft und auch schon 3x angehört. Ich finde es verdient eine 10/10, ist mein neues Lieblingsalbum(Songs for the deaf wurde abgelöst).

Es ist fantastisch, "I can't wait for life!", dieses Explodieren ging mir unter die Haut.

Starkes Teil, ja.
Shadows Collide With People ist für mich noch einen Tick stärker. Mehrere Frusciante Alben tummeln sich im Bereich 9-9,5

Wenn ich mich recht erinnere fand ich die ersten 7 Songs immer sehr toll und danach viel es für mich etwas ab. Hab das Album aber auch schon ne Weile nciht gehört. Mal sehen.

Schönes Gitarrensolo auch. Das Album ist ja schön knarzig und minimalistisch. Der Gegenetwurf etwas von "Shadows collide with people". Trotzdem mag ich beide sehr.

Frusciante muss sich mit solchen Texten vor absolut niemandem verstecken.

Ich kenne nur The Will to Death und To Record.... von ihm Solo. Was würdest du denn so als nächstes empfehlen für mich

Hmm, würde schon "Shadows collide with people" empfehlen. Die ist weniger minimalistisch, pompöser. Aber tolle Songs. Nur manches Zwischenstück ist etwas zu viel des Guten. Ich glaub, die geht auch 70 Minuten. Aber 50 davon sind toll. :D

Wie schon vor dem Ausbruch die Gitarren anfangen zu knarzen und quietschen und damit den Ausbruch ankündigen. Ich sag es nochmal, in 2 Takes so ein Detailreichtum und so eine Perfektion!
