The Wrens

In late 2006, Wind-Up records finally reissued the band's first two albums. The band is also working hard but very slowly on a follow-up to The Meadowlands.

Also in 2006, The Wrens recorded a cover of the song "They'll Need A Crane" for Hello Radio, a tribute album to They Might Be Giants.

Yesterday, the Wrens re-launched their website with a new song and a promise. The song? "Pulled Fences", recorded live at Abbey Road Studios in London for the satellite radio show WorldSpace Sessions. The song is literally brand new; they made it up on the spot based on the chords for "In Turkish Waters", the demo song that appears on that Lifted Brow compilation.

The promise? A new album will be relesed this year. We've been hearing that for quite awhile. But this time, it might actually happen. They're set to hit the studio to record the follow-up to 2003's The Meadowlands on Monday, January 19. A press release from Absolutely Kosher says, "The album is schedule[d] for release in late spring.

was neues:

The work whistle sounds at 10:00am and we go until night and then another manful 6 hours on Saturday. If we don’t come out of this with at least 10 new songs basic-tracked (most of them Kevin’s, one of them good), I’ll eat the same fictional hat I trot every time I make these proclamations.

But this time I mean it, baby…

Neuer Song? Neues Album? The Wrens? Geht doch noch vier Monate bis Weihnachten?

Gordon Fraser

Hehe. :D
