Kennt jemand von euch die Band 'Violet Sedan Chair'?
Für mich ist deren Debutalbum 'Seven Suns' ein ganz großer Klassiker aus den 70ern:

"Original” Seven Suns LP by the faux group Violet Sedan Chair, TV character Walter Bishop's favorite band. This is the record that was placed in record stores several months ago as a marketing gimmick for the J.J. Abrams TV show “Fringe.” In the episode “Northwest Passage,” Walter can be seen holding up the record sleeve while the LP is playing. The band Violet Sedan Chair is referenced again in the most recent episode “Firefly” where Christopher Lloyd plays the group’s founder Roscoe Joyce.
This copy of the LP was found several months ago in a used record bin at a store in Los Angeles (not ours, darn it!) by a collector of private pressing progressive and psychedelic rock, completely unaware at that time of its Fringe connection.
According to some, there are multiple versions of the LP, each with different clues to the plot direction of the show within the lyrics. We cannot confirm this as of yet.
The back of the sleeve and side two label note an 11th song, “Greenmana”. However, each side only contains 5 songs for a total of 10. Is that a clue for Fringe fans in and of itself?
Musically, the record varies considerably, from light prog to psych and psych pop, with obvious and subtle allusions to Pink Floyd, The Byrds, The Moody Blues, Aerosmith, The Who, Stonehenge-era Spinal Tap and very early Fleetwood Mac, among others (listen to the sound samples provided below).
The sleeve states it was recorded between 1968 and 1971, which probably accounts for the diversity of the music (wink, wink). When it was actually recorded and who plays on it is a closely guarded secret by the Fringe people, but the modern sounding production values belie the supposed vintage recording dates. It's purely a guess, but we wouldn't be at all surprised if Matthew Sweet had a hand in the production.
