Tja, ich eröffene jetzt einfach mal den Thread zum neuen Album, die Band scheint wohl nicht allzu viele zu interessieren. Schade eigentlich, ich liebe ihr Debüt-Album "The Invitation".

Wie auch immer, das neue Album "Contact" erscheint anscheinend anfang nächsten Jahres. Auf myspace gibt es vorab 2 Songs zu hören.
Ich freu mich schon riesig drauf.

Hoffentlich begehen sie nicht den gleichen Fehler wie z.B. Keane und Saybia, auf dem zweiten Album unbedingt anders klingen zu müssen als auf dem Debut.

Die Lieder auf myspace brechen gerad nach ein paar Sekunden ab.

@Target: So schlimm fand ich Saybias zweite Album eigentlich nicht. Gut, es klingt anders, aber darum nicht unbedingt schlechter. Nur die letzten ca. 7 Minuten von dem versteckten Track hätte man sich sparen können. ;)

Solider Nachfolger des guten Debüts.
Was soll man sagen. Klingt wie gewohnt. Schöne Melodien, noch ein wenig poppiger und hymnischer als der Erstling, keine Experimente.
Bin mir allerdings nicht sicher ob diese doch sehr gefällige Aufbereitung lange trägt.

Athlete hat mir da immer deutlich besser gefallen, da sie zu ihrer muslikalischen Geschmeidgkeit auch immer etwas rauhes und nicht so ganz vorhersehbares mitbrachten. Das lag sicher auch mit am doch sehr starken Akzent des Sängers.
Hoffentlich kommt von denen bald mal was Neues.

so, habe heute contact von cdwow bekommen und muss sagen, dass ich es weder gefällig finde, noch irgendeine verbindung zu athlete (nebenbei muss erwähnt werden, dass ich großer fan bin)sehen kann.ich sehe contact eher als remix-album der invitation-platte mit ein bisschen vordergründigeren drums und gitarren. das problem und gleichzeitig das gute des erstlings empfinde ich in der unaufgeregten eintönigkeit, die hier stringent fortgeführt wird. kein song ist der knaller und keiner wirklich mies.und alles breiig ungefällig und eigentlich so uninteressant, dass man sich gar nicht so wirklich freut oder damit beschäftigt. warum ich sie mir gekauft habe?weil ich es genau so mag.

Der 21.09. also, das passt...
Habe das Album seit dem UK-Release im April und kann es wirklich empfehlen, nicht ganz so stark wie das Debüt, aber dennoch 'ne klare 7,5/10.

Gerade am Anfang wirkt es etwas vollgekleistert mit seinem wuchtigeren Sound und vielen Keyboard/Piano-Passagen aber das Album wächst.
Außerdem ist mit "A Lot of Silence Here" der bis dato beste Thirteen Senses Song enthalten (erinnert noch am ehesten an The Invitation), auch wenn ich am Anfang immer an Bruce Springsteen denken muss ;-)

Okay, mehr als 6/10 war wirklich nicht drin. Aber All The Love In Your Hands z.B. ist zwar dick aufgetragen, aber doch irgendwie...naja...schön halt...irgendwie. Warum kann ich nicht einfach eine coole Indiesau sein, die das ganze "pilcher"esque Gemansche völlig kalt lässt. Geht nicht. Schon bei Keane nicht. Mist.

Ach ja: Wie bin ich eigentlich nackt aufs Cover gekommen?? ;)
