Instrumental-Album, neu auf der (ebenfalls neuen) Bandcamp-Page.
If you’ve spent any time hanging out with us at our rehearsal space in Hoboken — that pretty much covers none of you — you’ve heard us playing formlessly (he said, trying to sidestep the word “improvising”). Most of the songs we’ve written in the last 25 years have begun that way, but often we do it for no other reason than to push away the outside world.
In late April, with the outside world weighing on everybody, we determined that the three of us could assemble in Hoboken without disobeying the rules laid out by Governor Murphy, and resumed . . . “practicing” hardly describes it, because we’ve done no practicing per se, and anyway what would we be practicing for . . . playing. James set up one microphone in the middle of the room in case we stumbled on something useful for the future. Instead we decided to release some of the things we did right now.

@an die YLT-Nerd's:
Da klingt es im Musikhaus meines Vertrauens in der Synth-Abteilung Klassen besser wenn da einige Kunden irgendwelche Instrumente durcheinander testen.
Nein, mir ist aber das Film-Score Album YLT von 2002 "The Sounds of the Sounds of Science" aufgefallen, welches wir, glaube ich, gar nicht beachtet hatten.
Vielleicht sollten wir noch mal eine Extra-Nerd-Session ins Leben rufen.

Ich kenne das Album, ist schon seit jhren bei spotify.
Sind zwei 20minütige Ambient-Drone Tracks, mit zwischendurch schönen Passagen, aber insgesamt nichts für mich.
Es gibt noch ein zweites Filmscorealbum "They shoot, we score" mit sehr vielen kurzen Instrumentaltracks, da sind ein paar ganz hübsche dabei und es sind 4 gute, bis sehr gute Filme, die da von ihnen bescored werden.
Aber beide Alben fand ich jetzt nicht listening sessionwürdig.
Ich habe am Dienstag abend nach letzter Session begonnen eine spotify playlist in CD Länge zu erstellen. Mit den besten Songs/Tracks von den ersten Alben, Compilations, tribute alben und B Seiten.
Mach ich heute mal fertig und verlink das dann im Hauptthread.
Was sie da jetzt veröffentlicht haben unter "We have amnesia sometimes" lässt mich etwas sprachlos, es ist ja beschrieben, wie es entstanden ist und so hört es sich auch an.
Um es positiv auszudrücken: sie lassen ihre Fans an ihrem "way of working/creating" teilhaben.

. . . der neue Ambient Trash Tristesse-Kram ist wohl das frustriete Corona Produkt. Die sitzen ja mittendrinn. Schon die Titel . .
"The Sounds of the Sounds of Science" ist auch rein instrumental. Ich höre mir das mal in Ruhe genauer an.
Das mit deiner "Compilation" hört sich sehr gut an. Da bin ich ja mal gespannt. Ist dann auch Stoff für eine Session. Yeah . . the show must go on . . .
Eine reine Compilation mit Ira's Feedback-Highlight-Tracks wäre auch mal zu überlegen. ^^

Die Sounds of sounds of science find ich eigentlich ziemlich gelungen. Ist halt Ambient. Highlight für mich Sea Horse, das sich nicht hinter,sagen wir mal, Fireside verstecken muss |
