Jetzt meldete sich Lorde aus dem Studio und versprach: Das Warten auf das von Jack Antonoff produzierte neue Album lohnt sich… „Ich begann im Dezember wieder ins Studio zu gehen, nur um etwas zu tun zu haben, und zu meiner Überraschung kamen richtig gute Dinge dabei heraus. Fröhliche, spielerische Dinge“, schrieb die 23-Jährige. „Jack kam vorbei, um im Studio in Auckland zu arbeiten, und ich ging nach LA. Es floss. Eine Sache begann Gestalt anzunehmen. Aber gerade dann schloss sich natürlich die Welt. Wir arbeiten immer noch auswärts – Jack und ich haben erst heute Morgen über eine Stunde lang telefoniert und sind alles durchgegangen. Aber es wird noch eine Weile länger dauern.“ Grund zur (Vor-)Freude sollen die Fans dennoch haben. „Die Musik ist so verdammt gut, meine Freunde. Ich kann es kaum erwarten bis ihr sie hört“, so Lorde. Und auch zu ihren Tour-Plänen gab Lorde Auskunft: „Ich weiß jetzt, wie sehr ich mich darauf freue, wieder da draußen zu sein. Ich möchte wieder auf Festivals spielen, meine Intro-Musik hören und der Band zusehen, wie sie die Bühne betritt. (…) Ich möchte eine riesige Schlange von euch vor meinem Hotel sehen. Ich möchte euch alle umarmen und eure Hände halten. Ich möchte Interviews geben, immer und immer wieder über die Platte sprechen, bis ich sie in- und auswendig kenne. Ich möchte Fotoshootings machen, Videos drehen. Ich möchte Sommernahrung in schönen Ländern essen – Eis und Tomaten und Sardellen. Ich möchte meine Gabe einsetzen und zusehen, wie sie wächst. So ein Cover wird ja (hoffentlich) nicht ohne ihre Zustimmung veröffentlicht werden. Die junge Frau wird bestimmt einige Fragen und natürlich auch Shitstorms über sich ergehen lassen. Vor wenigen Wochen gab es ein paar sehr freizügige Fotos von Billie Eilish. Mit entsprechenden Reaktionen im Netz vor allem. Erwarte hier Ähnliches.

Wird sie vielleicht ja auch noch mitteilen, aber Verzweiflung und das Schrauben von Verkaufszahlen lese ich da so nicht heraus.

Mal schauen. Ich bin jedenfalls gespannt; bei Lorde habe ich ja grundsätzliches Vertrauen in die musikalische Qualität.

She’s a modern girl in a deadstock bikini, in touch with her past and her future, vibrating at the highest level when summer comes around. Her skin is glowing, her lovers are many. I’m completely obsessed with her, and soon you will be too. It’s my divine pleasure to be introducing you, at long last, to my third studio album, SOLAR POWER. The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalising the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors. Edrol Postings: 566 Registriert seit 19.10.2018	11.06.2021 - 20:19 Uhr Langsam finde ich hinein, die ersten 2 Minuten sind echt völlig entspannte Leichtigkeit - angenehm wie eine milde Sommerbrise. Mit der letzten Minute lerne ich sicher auch noch zu leben; sie stört mich schon nicht mehr so sehr wie am Anfang. Und Lorde hat sicher noch mehr zu bieten auf dem Album; die freudige Erwartung bleibt.

I reached out to Bobby [Gillespie], and he was so lovely about it. And he was like, You know, these things happen; you caught a vibe that we caught years ago. And he gave us his blessing. For those who don’t know, the summer solstice is the day when the Sun charts her longest course through the sky. It’s the longest and most light day of the year. Cultures have celebrated the solstice for thousands of years— with singing, dancing, ceremonies, fires, and feasts. It’s a day to toast fertility and hope for plentiful harvests. It’s one worth celebrating. And what better way to celebrate than with an EXTENSIVE DETAILS BULLETIN? (I’m joking, please go outside after reading this). I have so much to tell you. This is the first official bulletin from the Solar Institute, by the way. These may come every week or two weeks, depending on how I feel. Firstly, thank you for your sweet vibes on SP. I’m glad you like it. On release morning I went up Ōwairaka, not far from my house — I wanted to be outside. This is from the minute before the song launched. I had friends round that night, my girls brought me yellow flowers, I drank a really delicious mezcal and felt happy and cozy. It’s kind of an insane feeling having music out again. I can feel people staring at me when I go places. I’m getting really good tables in restaurants all of a sudden. It’s very amusing to me that to so many people I was dead, and now I’m alive!!! Anyway. I have some major shit to announce so I gotta keep this moving. The album comes out August 20. It contains 12 songs and 2 bonus tracks. Here’s the tracklist: It’s available for preorder/presave/whatever it’s called NOW. We have made some absolutely sensational vinyls for you guys that you will be able to go and get the day the album comes out, no waiting for you, oh no! They’ve waited long enough, I told my team, shaking my finger (really, my team told ME, because I live basically on a different planet and need to be reminded of real-world parameters constantly!!) There’s a beautiful standard vinyl with a sky-blue disc, and a very juicy deluxe vinyl only available on my site with the sickest giant foldout poster (you get the bonus tracks with this, on a super cool 7-inch picture disc). No CDs this time. I didn’t wanna make something that would end up in a landfill in 2 years, but more than that, I wanted to make something that symbolised my commitment to asking questions of our systems, and making stuff with intention and sensitivity. I’m calling it a music box. It’ll be the same size and shape as a CD, and you can buy it where CDs live, but this is something totally different. If you’re torn on which hold-in-your-hands, flip-through-the-pages thing to buy to best enjoy this album, honestly, I’d go for the music box. You’ll know more about this very soon. Onward we go!! The rumours are true — I’m not gonna be returning to social media this cycle, outside of the occasional temporary post, I guess. I want this bulletin to be our special spot. I see it as being part news bulletin, part diary, part old-school fan site.
