05.10.2019 - 18:15 Uhr - NewsbeitragPolitical punk icons, Anti-Flag, have just released a brand new single "Christian Nationalist" and its accompanying lyric video. For over two decades the Pittsburgh, PA based band have been leading the charge of progressivism in punk, and their newest track proves they still have plenty of fire left. The new single follows their 2017 full-length, American Fall, and 2019 live album, Live Vol. 2, and Anti-Flag are currently putting the final touches on a new studio album, further details to come. "Christian Nationalist" starts with a brief moment of subdued organ before exploding into the kind of powerful guitars and anthemic hooks that the band excel at, and in true Anti-Flag form the song is uncompromising in its message—its lyrics striking directly at the "white neo-fascist supremacists" in positions of power who use oppression to maintain control over others.
The lyric video for "Christian Nationalist" utilizes the images of both politicians who have taken money from the NRA and that of perpetrators of recent mass shootings, learn more here.
Anti-Flag vocalist/guitarist, Justin Sane, provided further insight into the song's lyrics saying, “History is full of wealthy and powerful people using religion and cultism to justify policies of oppression and inequality. Invariably, these policies target the most vulnerable in society so that elites can maintain their dominance. Today we see this same strategy employed by right wing politicians all over the world. Just as the anti-fascists of the 1930’s and 1940’s rejected the fascist ideologies of their era, we reject the neo-fascists of this era. Theocracy is dangerous and inherently anti-democratic because it restricts individual choice and provides an avenue by which politicians can claim a moral superiority over “the other”. It gives political cover and justification for policies and actions which might otherwise be deemed morally objectionable, inhuman, or adverse to the best interest of the country.”

Anti-Flag Announce New Album 20/20 Vision
Due Out January 17th via Spinefarm Records
Share New Song "Hate Conquers All"
Announce EU, UK Tour Dates in 2020
Political punk icons, Anti-Flag, have just announced their brand new album, 20/20 Vision, due out January 17th from Spinefarm Records. To mark the announcement the band have shared 20/20 Vision's explosive opening track "Hate Conquers All" and teamed with Kerrang! to premiere the song's accompanying video.
For over two decades Anti-Flag have been at the forefront of socially conscious punk rock, tirelessly releasing music, touring, organizing, and introducing generations of fans to progressivism through fiery protest songs. With 20/20 Vision the Pittsburgh, PA based band prove that they have plenty of vitriol left, aiming to face the challenges of our chaotic socio-political time head on. Opener "Hate Conquers All" pulls no punches, immediately drawing a line in the sand against the fascistic hate mongering of the Trump administration and making it clear that 20/20 Vision is an album intended to explicitly address the here and now.

Anti-Flag vocalist/bassist, Chris #2, provided further insight the new song and video, saying, “Love Trumps Hate. On the surface, this well packaged, well meaning sentiment does what it needs to... In the face of so much fear, inequality and despair, it provides hope. Hope that the path that we’re on isn’t an endless one, but one that can be defeated. And honestly I believe in the premise. That if you put love and positivity out into the universe it does combat negativity and it does come back or return, not always to us directly, but to someone. But the policies of Donald Trump and his administration are not just hateful. They’re racist, islamaphobic, homophobic, transphobic, and bigoted. It is a false equivalency. The language exists for a reason. Our focus should not only be on their hatred, but their outward and unabashed fascism. We shouldn’t just try to kill these things with love and kindness. We should be in the streets daily, demanding an end to racial, social, and economic injustice. The video for 'Hate Conquers All' is a visual experience of what a continuation of Trump policy and rhetoric holds. Climate devastation, racist/xenophobic immigration law and endless conflicts of interest serving his businesses and their partners. Watch the empire fall. Watch the nation dissolve. With our backs against the wall."

ANTI-FLAG premiere new song "Unbreakable" via Billboard music video directed by The Critics Company
New album 20/20 Vision due out January 17th
via Spinefarm Records
Political punk icons, Anti-Flag, recently announced their upcoming album, 20/20 Vision, due out January 17th from Spinefarm Records, and today the band have teamed with Billboard to premiere another new single "Unbreakable" and its accompanying music video.
The band pull no punches lyrically, immediately drawing a line in the sand against the fascistic hate mongering of the Trump administration and making it clear that 20/20 Vision is an album intended to explicitly address the here and now. "Unbreakable" is Anti-Flag at their best—defiant, hopeful, and undeniably catchy—and for its music video the band collaborated with The Critics Company, a collective of young filmmakers from Nigeria who've been gaining international acclaim with their impressive DIY short films.
