Discogs has verified the sale of the Sex Pistols's 'God Save The Queen' unreleased A&M Records 7" for $14,690US topping the Most Expensive Items Sold on Discogs for November 2017. The Guardian lists this unreleased Sex Pistols single as one of the rarest records in Britain. Originally signed to A&M Records, 25,000 copies of 'God Save The Queen' were pressed before A&M's Herb Alpert reportedly destroyed the Sex Pistols' recording contract six days after signing.

Genuine originals have the serrated anti-slip necklace and 7284 written twice on the B-Side runout, one above the other. Also of note, runout (Side A label) is AMS 7284A and runout (Side B label) is AMS 7284B.

DISCOGS MOST EXPENSIVE ITEMS SOLD FOR MAY 2018

Mysterious Limited-Edition Classic Records Compilation, Led Zeppelin, Sells For USD $4,836.00

PORTLAND, OR July 5, 2018 - Discogs confirms the Most Expensive Item Sold for May 2018 is the 2006 Classic Records compilation Led Zeppelin. The limited-edition, 45rpm, 200-gram, 44xLP, road case enclosed compilation sold for USD $4,836.00 and also comes shrouded in a bit of mystery. The main point of contention seems to be the precise number of compilations that were pressed by Classic Records in 2006. Per Chad Kassem of Acoustic Sounds, the number is approximately 750 copies originally retailing for $749.99. Kassem also shared that this particular buyer scored a deal as he recently sold this same variant of the compilation to a collector for USD $10,000. Other notable sales in May include a Vashti Bunyan's Just Another Diamond Day LP selling for USD $3,946.00 and a copy of Necros' Sex Drive 7" EP selling for USD $3,800.00.

HYPER-RARE PINK FLOYD VINYL SELLS FOR NEARLY $14,000 VIA DISCOGS

Discogs Users Drop Over $67,000USD On 30 Releases In August's Top 30 Most Expensive Items Sold

PORTLAND, OR October 5, 2018 - Discogs confirms the Most Expensive Item Sold for August 2018 is a 2xLP Red Color Variant Japanese Promo of Pink Floyd's Ummagumma, which went for $13,953USD. The Ummagumma white label, red vinyl variant promo is ultra-rare amongst Pink Floyd releases, as the red variant was used only for promo while the black color variant was stock. This is contrary to typical releases at the time, where black vinyl was used for both promo and stock. Discogs' Discography Specialist Brent Greissle adds, “Given that it’s Floyd, I’d assume not many promo copies were made, given the lack of actual effort needed to promote it. I’d also assume that radio stations would have played their copies to death, so good, clean copies would be hyper-rare.”

RARE PRINCE THE BLACK ALBUM PRESSING RESURFACES AT USD $40,000

One Of The Five Factory Sealed Copies Discovered In December 2017 Resurfaces

PORTLAND, OR October 25, 2018 - Twenty-four years to the day that Prince reportedly signed an agreement allowing Warner Bros. Records to officially release The Black Album (source), one of the original US pressings surfaces in the Discogs Marketplace priced at USD $40,000. Initially purchased from the December 2017 discovery lot that increased the known copies from three to eight worldwide, The Black Album is still one of the rarest vinyl albums in existence. A US variant of The Black Album sold via the Discogs Marketplace in April 2016 for $15,000 and more recently in February 2018 for a reported $42,000 via music historian and record dealer Jeff Gold of Recordmecca.

THE BLACK ALBUM LISTED AT USD $40,000 IN THE DISCOGS MARKETPLACE
https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/11276350?ev=rb

We were thrilled to land a copy of Prince's 'The Black Album' earlier this year and are equally excited to get it in the hands of a Prince collector that understand the importance of this Prince rarety. We've been using Discogs since opening our Dallas flagship in 2014, and they've been instrumental in Josey Records reaching a customer base that we wouldn't reach through our retail locations which is why we're using Discogs today for this incredibly special release. - Luke Sardelle, Josey Records

Scheduled for release by Warner Bros. Records on December 8, 1987, Prince canceled The Black Album one week before its release date, and subsequently, more than 500,000 copies were destroyed. Only 8 U.S. original vinyl copies have surfaced in the 30 years since... and now a single Canadian copy surfaces. Read more about The Black Album via the Discogs Database HERE.

Discogs Reveals Top 100 Most Expensive Cassettes
Rare Prince Promo Prices Over $4,000 + 99 Above $500

PORTLAND, OR., July 23, 2019: Discogs, the world's foremost Database, Marketplace, and Community for physical music, today released a comprehensive list of the Top 100 Most Expensive Cassettes ever purchased through the Discogs Marketplace since its launch in 2005.

Cassettes are the fastest-growing format of the big three sold on Discogs. They are cheap to produce, making the format appealing to DIY artists looking to release music without investing thousands of dollars. They are also less frequently purchased than vinyl and CDs, which drives production and supply down. Which, in some cases, can make them phenomenally rare.

All of the top 100 most expensive cassettes sold on Discogs are $500 or higher – which is remarkably expensive considering the known physical shortfalls of the format. The vast majority of cassettes do not hit these prices though and they are often more affordable than vinyl equivalents, making them appealing to many physical media enthusiasts.

Just 1.8% of all Discogs purchases in 2018 were of a cassette tape, which was up slightly from the year before. There were just about 200,000 cassettes purchased on Discogs in 2018, which is an increase of 24% over 2017.

Check out the entire list of the Top 100 Most Expensive Cassettes of all time only on Discogs.com.

Discogs Reveals Top 100 Most Expensive CDs
Rare Coil Box Set Prices Over $3,000 + 99 Above $1000

PORTLAND, OR. August 22, 2019: Discogs, the world's foremost Database, Marketplace, and Community for physical music, today released a comprehensive list of the Top 100 Most Expensive CDs ever purchased through the Discogs Marketplace since its launch in 2005.

CDs are the second most-purchased and most-submitted format behind vinyl records on Discogs. About 21% of all purchases in 2018 consisted of a CD, whether it be part of a boxset or an individual disc. Total CD sales on Discogs grew by about 20% over 2017 and continue to do so into this year.

All of the top 100 most expensive CDs sold on Discogs are $1000 or higher – and the list contains all releases that contain a CD, not excluding box sets. In fact, more than 60% of the releases on this list are box sets with the most prominent being Bob Dylan’s The Cutting Edge 1965 – 1966: The Bootleg Series Vol.12: Collector’s Edition, which appears close to 20 times.

Rare Banksy-Painted Röyksopp Record Tops Previous High Priced Sale at $8178

PORTLAND, OR., September 9, 2019: Vinyl revenue is set to out perform CDs for the first time since 1986 (RIAA) and that can be reflected in Discogs latest Top 30 Most Expensive records chart for the Discogs Marketplace over the month of July. The complete list for July 2019 can be viewed on the Discogs Blog, while the following are the highest priced records sold this month:

In May, a copy of this rare record sold for $6,962 to a Discogs collector. Discogs now confirms that an additional copy sold in July has topped that sale at a whopping $8178, the highest price ever paid through the Discogs Marketplace.

Released in 2002, Norwegian electronic duo Röyksopp pressed an ultra-limited edition of their double-LP Melody A.M. and asked artist Banksy to put his personal touch on every copy, hand spray painting each cover of the 100 copies.

Placing second, a rare Classic Records Led Zeppelin 45 rpm Box Set from 2006 sold for a standout $6,444 - the highest price ever paid on Discogs. The titles include Led Zeppelin I, II , III, IV, Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti, Presence, In Through the Out Door, and Coda with each spread out over either four or eight sides depending on whether the original LP was a single or double.

Also im Zweifel: Lieber 3 x nachhaken...

Verve - A Storm In Heaven M/M für 50€ :-)
