Horror at it's peak	30.09.2003 - 16:16 Uhr This is one of the two greatest horror films ever made, one being "Night of the Living Dead" (the 1968 version, not the worthless remake) and this film being the other. Few other horror films have been so influential. While NOTLD paved the way for what was to come and therefore in my opinion the greatest horror film ever not only for it's scares, but its ideas, this film perfected it. The only reason I don't find this better than NOTLD is because the original was more claustrophobic, there was nowhere to run, and the black and white photography was extremely atmospheric. No zombie film that I know of has reached the greatness of these two films. What's really great about this film is that it mixes horror and action perfectly, and even throws in some comedic moments. To see this in all of its glory, you should purchase the directors cut released in a hard clamshell case by Anchor Bay Entertainment. While I've heard it's not the totally uncut version, it is definitive because it is recorded in high quality SP, is in the great-looking clamshell, and includes a Monroeville Mall commercial at the end. The regular Anchor Bay release is recorded in grimy EP, doesn't have the commercial at the end, and is shorter. I've heard that the complete version was released in Germany at 156 min., I can only imagine how cool that version is. However, I have no desire to see the Italian or Japanese versions other than out of curiosity. The Italian version (I've heard) cuts out most of the horror and makes it more of an action flick. The Japanese version, on the other hand, freezes the film before a gore seen but leaves the soundtrack going, and then cues the current scene once the gore part has passed. As I've said, I prefer the directors cut. It runs 139 min., which is much better than the regular VHS which runs 126 min. What's really great are the characters, you actually care what happens to them, and the action isn't just thrown in their for the heck of it, it makes sense. You've GOT to kill the zombies or they kill you. I couldn't believe when I heard some people didn't like this film, I found it a great horror classic. While I'd love to see the totally restored 156 min. version, I'm content with my 139 min. version. However, any way you see it is sure to be an experience, no doubt.
Matzee	11.04.2004 - 12:13 Uhr I Am Kloot / Heidelberg Karlstorbahnhof ich muß doch gerade mal loswerden:: ganz tolles konzert gestern, hätte ich so nicht erwartet bei einer band die ich kaum kannte.. humor hat der sänger auch, toller gesang, und eine sehr gute vorband: obi. wer war "zufällig" auch da?

I am Claude	25.08.2010 - 07:03 Uhr I am Kloot werden für immer ein Geheimtipp bleiben, aber einer, der es in sich hat. Tolle Melodien, schmucke Arrangements, und über allem thront der perlende Gesang des überaus gut bestückten Frontmanns, mit dem ich mal (leider nur)eine Nacht verbringen durfte.

War eines meiner besten Konzerterfahrungen. Danach auch kurzes Gespräch mit John Bramwell gehabt, super sympathischer Typ. „Avenue of Hope“ ist mein Lieblingssong der Band.
carpi Postings: 1716 Registriert seit 26.06.2013	10.03.2018 - 19:30 Uhr Von der Auflösung habe ich auch nichts gehört, kann alle positiven Berichte bestätigen, die zwei Konzerte am Anfang ihrer Karriere sind mir auch noch sehr positiv in Erinnerung geblieben und das Album I am Kloot ist hervorragend. Vielleicht geht es ja mit einer Solokarriere weiter.
