NOK Postings: 269 Registriert seit 04.10.2018	18.06.2024 - 21:55 Uhr Wenn ich bedenke, dass mich halbwegs reinrassige Rockmusik mit Post-Rock-Instrumentierung aus den Nullerjahren nicht mehr alle Tage hinter dem Ofen hervorlockt, finde ich das Debutalbum von Windermere gerade überraschend berührend, von den unaufdringlichen und doch ihr Ziel erreichenden Melodien bis hin zum Sänger mit gelegentlichen Morten-Harket-Deja-vus. Herzlichen Dank für die Nennung!

boneless Postings: 6399 Registriert seit 13.05.2014	14.10.2024 - 19:07 Uhr Um mal MickHeads Selbstgespräche zu unterbrechen (danke für alle deine Tipps, Kumpel ;))... ich dachte, ich hätte hier schon mal für Outlander geschwärmt. Finde aber gerade nichts, war wohl in einem anderen Thread. Die kommen jedenfalls aus Birmingham und sind auf Church Road Records untergekommen. Da gingen bei mir natürlich gleich die Grivo-Alarmglocken an und ja, Ähnlichkeiten zum Trio aus Austin, Texas sind nicht von der Hand zu weisen. Und das liebe ich. Unglaublich weitläufiger, grenzenloser Shoegaze, der geradezu durch die Boxen schwebt und alles zudeckt. Zudem gibt es sehr ausladende Post-Rock Passagen, die hervorragend in die Songs eingebaut wurden. Ohne Frage ein Jahreshighlight, die beste Shoegazeplatte 2024 dürfte sie für mich jetzt schon sein.

Wobei vielleicht mittlerweile live auch auf Bandgröße gewachsen. Du wirst es wissen, wenn du sie gesehen hast. Ich fand die erste Platte ganz in Ordnung, aber hat mich jetzt auch nicht vom Hocker gerissen.

boneless Postings: 6399 Registriert seit 13.05.2014	24.11.2024 - 14:01 Uhr Ich möchte neben den ganzen aktuellen Empfehlungen hier mal wieder eine alte, meines Erachtens nach stark unterschätzte Band in den Ring werfen: Love Spirals Downwards. Ich hatte immer das Gefühl, dass die im Schatten der übergroßen Cocteau Twins stets übersehen wurden, dabei haben die in den 90er nicht weniger schöne Kleinode herausgebracht. Gerade hat es mir Ardor von 94 angetan, aber im Grunde sind alle Alben des Duos aus LA empfehlenswert.

Die Entwicklung von Album zu Album ist auch sehr beachtenswert - werden definitiv in meiner 90er Liste auftauchen. Bin mir aber noch nicht sicher mit welchem Album und wie hoch.
