Im Herbst also schon? Hoffentlich!

Big Announcement!

Friends!!!
We have some exciting news!!! We know that everyone is wondering what is next for us (New Label? New Record? Touring? Breaking up?). We're proud to announce that we will be releasing a DVD/CD on our former label, Victory Records. Surprise! A lot of the footage from this DVD was taken during the time we spent on Victory and we thought it was appropriate to release it with them. On a more personal note, many of you know that our parting with Victory was bitter on both sides and we're taking this chance to put that behind us. That label really helped us get to where we are and we helped them to establish themselves as well... "coming full circle" and "making amends" are some of the phrases that we could throw around here but we think you get the picture already. Tony's passion for this project and his continued support of the band after all these years has helped to make this an easy decision.

We're really looking forward to this release. The DVD will be a retrospective of our bands career so far (footage from the last nine years) with a ton of live stuff. Everyone always says we're much better live than on record-- now you can decide. The CD will have several new tracks (!) and some alternate versions and demos of older songs.

Once the DVD and CD are complete, we will be starting work on a new album soon after and the home for that has yet to be determined.

Thanks and see you soon,
Geoff, Tim, Tucker, Steve, Andrew and Tom--(THURSDAY)

Mich ärgert nur, dass das wunderschöne "a hole in the world (acoustic)" fehlt.

Ich bin gespannt was für eine Version, "how long is the night" ist.

Signing To Epitaph

To All Our Friends and Fans-

Today we are very pleased to announce that we have signed with Epitaph Records. We would like to take this opportunity to tell everyone why we are so excited about this partnership and how we believe it will affect our future.

Many of you already know that we have had many difficulties with our record labels in the past, both "Independents" and "Majors", and have subsequently taken some time (a year and a half) to decide on a new situation. In this time, we've been meeting with labels from all over the country as well as discussing the possible alternatives to "signing" with a label. Some fascinating and intelligent people took the time to help us see what we were looking for (and some Record Execs inadvertently showed us what to avoid). From distribution deals, where we would be our own "label", to digital releases with suggested donations, we tried to educate ourselves to all the new and exciting ways that people can get their music out.

One of our biggest concerns was that we find a situation where we could be free to just be Thursday. In the past we've been asked to be the poster boys for a movement that we didn't wish to be a part of, pressured to write "The Big Single" and told to work on our "image." As much as we've always tried to remain true to our vision for the band and our belief in the basic power of music, it has been a struggle to constantly deflect the suggestions and advice of the people surrounding us. In this way, our story is an all-too-common one in today's music industry: We jumped in at the deep end and found ourselves trying to swim with the sharks; even when we were winning, we were losing ourselves. We feel very lucky to have outlasted these challenges and are grateful for the chance to finally do things our own way.

So why did we choose Epitaph? Of all the exciting and liberating options available to us, we found the idea of entering into a partnership with a label that we've always loved to be the most exciting idea. In this new era of music distribution we still see value in aligning ourselves with a company of dedicated and hard working people rather than trying to conduct all of the business ourselves. We want to keep our focus on music and touring. Epitaph have continually voiced their desire to help us become the band that WE have always wanted to be. It's a great feeling to have a label encourage you to be more socially conscious and politically active. It's a great feeling to have a label owner push you to explore the most experimental and challenging aspects of your band's music instead of dissuading you. It's a truly great feeling to be working with a label that all of our friends have had so many great experiences with. And it certainly doesn't hurt to work with a label that has put out many of our favorite records and is run by someone who's been in a touring band.

Brett G. was very clear that he wasn't looking to create any hype about a "return to form" for Thursday and he has never asked us to revisit the style of song writing that we used on Full Collapse (still our biggest selling album to date) but that we should continue to write with the firm intent of making our best record, our true "dream record" and that was especially informative in our decision to sign. We love our early records but the reason we still write music together, every single day, after ten years is that we believe our best records are still unwritten. We are very inspired by Bad Religion's post-Atlantic albums and look forward to our Epitaph years.

In short we've always believed that music has the power to change lives and that all of us who have been lucky enough to make music for a living have a responsibility to try and make the world a more compassionate and livable place in any small way that they can. We hope that with Epitaph's help and guidance we can do our part.

Thanks for listening,
Tim, Tom, Geoff, Andrew, Tucker and Steve (Thursday)

Thursday's Ten Favorite Epitaph Releases (in no order):

I've got the news...

Over the last four years, Thursday has been fortunate enough to have performed unforgettable Holiday Shows in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Long Island, Maryland, Brooklyn and Southern California.
After sharing the joy of being on stage together again for Signals V1, we became very determined to do a virtual show this holiday season. So it is with great pleasure that we are able to announce that we will be broadcasting Signals V2 on Tuesday December 29th at 7.30pm EST.
Live from IIWII in New Jersey - this will be a Thursday show like no other before it!
Our new friend Bartees Strange (side note: it’s only a matter of time before we are opening for Bartees) and our old friend Jim Ward (from ATDI / Sparta / Sleepercar) agreed to provide impeccable support sets. With the opening bar set so high, we knew we had to plan something different and special for our Thursday set.
We got on the phone to a few of our musical heroes and asked them would they come and sit in with us. To our utter delight they all said yes!
Frank Iero, who opened up the 2017 holiday tour with his solo band and invited us out to California last December to play the “return” show of MCR, is reprising his Signals V1 role on a few tunes. Norman Bannon from Texas Is The Reason will also be on hand to expertly school us on “how it’s done”. Walter Schreifels from Rival Schools and Quicksand (we will never forget the 2018 Australian tour with Quicksand as a career highlight) will be on hand to lend his magnificent talents to the event program. Finally, the Fire Deuce himself, Mr. Travis Stever from Coheed and Cambria, will leave you hypnotized.
Expect songs you might not have heard in a while, good stories, a lot of holiday cheer and some very special surprises.
Tickets are now available at www.livefrom.events/thursday
As with Signals.V1, there will be a limited amount of unemployed tickets and merchandise available for free to those adversely affected by the current circumstances we find ourselves in. We know Thursday fans are the best and will stick to the honor system here! We were shocked by how many people donated tickets to strangers on V1 so we are also adding the ability to pay an extra $2 on top of your ticket price and will use that money to fund more free tickets and more free merch for those like us that have seen their best laid plans change drastically.
The show will run from 7.30pm EST on December 29th and then will be available as VOD from midnight. The on demand will run right through to December 1st with the last showing starting at 9.00pm.
We are so happy that we will be able to play for you this holiday season and as we enter 2021, we want you to remember…………THIS YEAR WILL BE BETTER THAN THE LAST.
Stay Home, Stay Safe, Stay True.
Thursday.

All The Time in voller Länge zocken.
