Suad:
"This talented Finnish singer-songwriter released her long awaited debut solo album in January 2021. SUAD is Suad Khalifa, who has worked for years with several domestic and international bands and projects. As a solo artist, it took her some time to experiment following a move to Helsinki proved fruitful by helping the singer-songwriter find her voice as a composer and musician."

"Los Aurora brings together five talents that emerged from the Higher Music Education School of Taller de Músics in Barcelona: the young Flamenco singers Pere Martínez, pianist Max Villavecchia, guitarist Javi Garrabella and drummer Joan Carles Marí. Together with dancer Jose Manuel Álvarez the group undertakes a musical adventure that travels through the most popular songs of the composer Manuel de Falla, and aims to explore the borders of traditional sonorities and the fusion with other aesthetics."

Deaf Radio
"Deaf Radio is one of the most notable groups to emerge recently from Greece’s rising rock scene. Active since 2015, the band has released three full-length albums: debut Alarm in 2017 and sophomore record Modern Panic in 2019, followed by a live album in October 2020. Think alternative rock and stoner/desert rock, plus tours through Europe with like-minded bands like All Them Witches, Planet of Zeus, 1000mods and Naxatras."

Haben mich sofort überzeugt. Zitieren The Cure, Depeche Mode, The Mission, Madrugada (die Beschreibung oben ist etwas irreführend). Beeindruckende Gesangsleistung.

Tea Sofia:

"Tea Sofia is an emerging singer and songwriter who stirred up the Czech pop scene back in 2018 with her hit single ‘Pretend’ and subsequently the ambitious EP Unwind. Tea was born and raised in the Czech Republic, yet also proudly embraces her Serbian and Lithuanian roots. Her work is distinctive thanks to the 18-year-old’s strong voice, indisputable songwriting talent and sincere lyrics which capture the feelings of her generation."

Pop mit Elektroeinschlag. Nicht weltbewegend aber schon gut.

Mordai:
"MORDÁI is a Hungarian folk rock group that draws upon the repertoire of the experimental folk movements of the sixties and seventies (Muzsikás Zenekar Sebő ensemble etc). The tone and subject matter of the band summon the unknown, and are driven by the dark presence of ‘The Outlaw’. Immerse yourself in their recent eponymous recording."

Ziemlich düster Rock/Folk, teilweise mit Violinen. Mir reicht das schon ;)

Fleshworld
"A five-piece band from Kraków, Poland, revolving around the concepts of uncertainty and change, beauty found in decay and indescribable emotions. Fleshworld delivers challengingly noisy and melodic sludgy post-hardcore that evokes nostalgia, regret and uneasiness. In 2019 their latest album The Essence Has Changed, But The Details Remain, came out on This Charming Man Records."

Bester Act des Abends. Blackened Hardcore. Wahnsinnig druckvoll und stimmig.

Blodet:
"Blodet is a relatively new noise and post-rock band from Northern Sweden. The previously instrumental group recently added Hilda Heller as vocalist to their line-up and is preparing to release the Vision EP in 2021. Blodet has already toured with Cult of Luna and Refused, and has been described as ‘balancing on the edge between Swans and Sonic Youth’."

Wer Esben & The Witch mag, mag auch das.

Konvent:
"Danish foursome Konvent deliver the definitive death doom debut of 2020 with Puritan Masochism. Founded in Copenhagen in 2015, the group stoically trudges through the blackest mires – following in the footsteps of Candlemass, Paradise Lost, Cult of Luna and Black Breath, who all unleashed the bleakest horror on mankind in the early 90s. Rikke Emilie List`s guttural vocals and tenacious riffing combined with menacingly heavy production make the debut by these four women a massive extreme metal highlight of 2020."

Yotto:
"Odd One Out maintenance man, surreal zookeeper and creator of the Idiot Touring series, Yotto is thankful for where he is today. Starting with releases on Anjunadeep 5 years ago, his music has taken the Fin around the world, playing renowned festivals and packed venues. He has received support from respected tastemakers like 6 Essential New Tunes from Pete Tong, 3 Hottest Records from Annie Mac and an Essential Mix. in 2020 Yotto launched his own label Odd One Out, where he already released collaborations with Lane 8 and Cassian."

Das war dann das Gegenstück. Sehr feiner Deep House (?!), Techno, wausauchimmer.

"Amsterdam band Altin Gün return with a masterful single ‘Ordunun Dereleri’ - and in February with album Yol - widening their exploration of Anatolian rock and Turkish psychedelic folk to include dreamy '80s synth-pop and dancefloor excursions. The renowned live act has played strings of sold-out shows on three continents, and Yol, their third album in as many years - following their GRAMMY nominated album Gece - excitedly continues that trend, while also digging deep to unveil a new palette of sonic surprises."

@Klaus

Gut waren:

Lina_Raul Refree
"Two great Portuguese musicians involved in an intense moving and special musical relationship. Raül Refree is one of the most innovative European producers (Rosália, Lee Ranaldo) and he was blown away by Lina’s voice when he saw her at Clube de Fado in Lisbon. Lina is a Fado singer with classical training, two records on Sony Music and an expert on Amália Rodrigues. She selected some of the diva’s Fado classics and they immediately started to work together. Raül framed Lina’s voice in analog clouds with brilliant arrangements and a fresh approach, giving Fado a unique electronic sheen that serves to underline Fado as reflecting a universal condition."

Nea
"After five years of working as a songwriter for others Linnea Södahl put herself on the map as solo artist Nea with 2019’s ‘Some Say’. Going from collaborating with Zara Larsson (over one billion streams as co-writer) Maggie Lindemann Tove Styrke Tinie Tempah Grey and Axwell to a solo career hasn’t changed her or her ability to write great contemporary pop songs with a deeply personal touch. In 2020 Nea released the Some Say debut EP followed by several more singles through Sony Music's Milkshake imprint."

Ana Kravanja and Samo Kutin
Ana Kravanja and Samo Kutin are two thirds of the internationally celebrated band Širom, who together they have been a mainstay of the creative music scene in Slovenia as well. In this tandem they blend the hurdy gurdy, plucked string instruments, tambura, brač and çifteli with acoustic resonators, viola, violin and Ana’s voice. On their 2020 album Cumulus Spores they place each note exactly where it belongs, to create songs that recall ancient fairy tales.

Perija
"Perija is a growing concept which symbolizes equality, empathy and acceptance. The four members from Macedonia express their emotions in a dark-folk, oriental sensibility full of female energy. The mystery of nature opens the path to music and to explore the past and future. That evokes a process of change, and that is exactly why the group sings in different languages (Bulgarian, Albanian, Serbian, Turkish) and plays instruments that connect east and west. Perija toured through Europe to promote their two albums at street, radio and club shows.

Fortsetzung des ganzen. Hier im "orientalischen" Gewand. Eines meiner Lieblingsalben ist ja Esmerines "Dalmak", was hier wieder einmal ins Gedächtnis kam.

Decolonize Your Mind Society
"Inspired by non-European traditional music, non-tempered tuning systems, psychedelic ritual performances and the legendary Fourth World music by Jon Hassell and Brian Eno, Decolonize Your Mind Society was founded by Balint Szabo Gosheven as a natural continuation of his creative focus and work. The Hungarian band floats in a hazy no man’s land between psychedelic rock, avant-garde, jazz and experimental music, with the glissonic wind instrument (glissotar) and analog synthesizer adding to their absolutely unique sound. The six-piece just released their debut in October."

Rimon:
"Seemingly out of nowhere Eritrean-born and Amsterdam-based RIMON arrived early 2018 with ‘Grace’. Her moving R&B and neo-soul is inspired by her own life - the struggles she experienced as a refugee (having fled Eritrea with her mother when she was a toddler) growing up as a foreigner in Dutch culture being inspired by the Amsterdam underground scene and her personal stories of falling in and out of love. 2020 saw the release of the classy second EP I Shine U Shine including the single ‘Got My Back’ featuring Denzel Curry."

Elektro-Pop/Soul, bisschen Richtung Sevdaliza vielleicht. Gut.

Nemanja
"nemanja is a project of Luka Sipetic, Croatian author and musician in the bands pastele, Para Lele and NLV. Tarot Funk is an instrumental album that Sipetic recorded, produced and mixed in a house near Pula in January 2019. The album is a homage to Thai funk, Afro-funk, Anatolian rock of the 70's and Cambodian psych rock of the sixties. All the songs are written for specially selected Tarot cards, whose symbolism - together with the music - forms the narrative unit that the listeners must discover for themselves."

Psychedelic Rock. Sehr repetetiv, sehr gut auch.

Bin dann ziemlich im Elektrochannel hängen geblieben:

Sassy009
"Sassy 009 - the solo project of 23-year-old Norwegian singer/producer Sunniva Lindgård - combines heavy basslines and euphoric beats with her distinctive voice. Her music threads dark and abstract narratives through a vast musical and emotional landscape with vocals ranging from fragile and floating to bold and confident. Her dark hypnotic techno-rooted take on pop music is well captured on her latest EP KILL SASSY 009 released on Luft Recordings in autumn 2019."

Bisschen wie The Knife/ Fever Ray. Zweitbester Auftritt.

"Fast-rising electronic duo Bratři are one of Prague’s most popular live acts. Twins Jiří and Ondřej are both drummers with a love for electronic music, drum machines and modular synthesizers. Their music, influenced by techno and experimental electronics, has a diverse sound where melodic, beat-oriented songs are a striking blend of acoustic drums and electronic samples."

CloZee
"French producer Chloé Herry aka CloZee is a worldly and rhythmic figure in the electronic music scene. The 2015 release of CloZee’s single ‘Koto’ marked her big breakthrough and her debut album Evasion sent ripples throughout the electronic music scene. 2020 saw the release of the successful Neon Jungle album in November, followed by the equally impressive Neon Jungle Remixes."

Live gern mal.
