Devendra Banhart: “Well, I have a band — it’s me and the drummer from Priestbird, Greg Rogove. What started off as a joke — “Let’s start a band and let’s make up song titles” — to our surprise and shock, we started writing songs, and we’ve written eight songs that I’m really really proud of and excited about. We’re gonna record a real record, and we’re called MEGAPUSS.”
Megapuss make their auspicious debut with an evening of live music and visuals under the stars. Bring cushions and blankets, sip a cocktail amid the bamboo in the Hammer Courtyard and feel the positive summer vibe. This talented duo plays a unique style of pop music tempered with a healthy dose of humor. The performance is complemented by projections from photographer Lauren Dukoff whose honest and authentic portraiture is the subject of a book to be released in spring 2009. The collaborative team of Jon Beasley and Chandler McWilliams add kinetic layers to the photos by digitally manipulating and animating them.

Nette zwei Songs, aber nicht wirklich entfernt vom dem normalen Banhart Zeug, aber bin gespannt es in guter Qualität zu hören. |

Here at naturalismo we always knew that Megapuss was salt of the earth. But, for those naysayers who need more confirmation, let’s turn to our friend Aziz Ansari from Human Giant, shall we?
Aziz: “Devendra called me a few weeks ago and asked me to sing vocals to a song about “Duck People.” I told him I had no clue who the duck people were, but he kindly told me they wore hoods, crossed bridges, and were really into magazines and Trader Joe’s. I hope you like it.”

Die beiden Songs sind gut, mehr aber nicht. Mal schauen, wie das Album wird, falls es eines geben wird. |

Naja, ich glaube die sind Demos und zumindest der Crop Circle gefällt mir schon sehr gut mittlerweile...
Man darf zumindest sehr gespannt sein und ja es wird definitiv ein Album geben |

Leider ein sehr langweiliges Album. Vielleicht aber auch gut, wenn man die selben Drogen intus hat wie die Musiker offensichtlich bei den Aufnahmen. |
