Nach dem erfolgreichen Vorgänger "Commit This To Memory" (weit über 275,000 verkaufte Exemplare in den USA), kann man sehr gespannt auf die neuen Aufnahmen sein. Einen ersten Eindruck gibt es bei ihrem exklusiven Deutschland Auftritt, den es im Rahmen des "Give It A Name" Festivals am 22.04.2007 in Berlin zu bestaunen gilt. Weitere Informationen findet Ihr in der offiziellen Pressemitteilung: Motion City Soundtrack Team up with Fountains of Wayne´s Adam Schlesinger, Girls Against Boys´ Eli Janney and Music Industry Legend Ric Ocasek for Even if it Kills Me, the Highly Anticipated Follow-Up to Commit This to Memory Critically acclaimed pop-rockers Motion City Soundtrack entered the studio at the end of February to begin work on Even if it Kills Me, the follow-up to their sophomore album Commit This To Memory which has gone on to sell well more than 275,000 copies worldwide since its mid-2005 release. For their new record, which is scheduled for a July 13th, 2007 release in Germany on Epitaph, the band first entered Stratosphere Studios in New York to work with Fountains Of Wayne´s Adam Schlesinger and former Girls Against Boys member Eli Janney. They then moved to Electric Lady Studios in New York the first week of March to finish the album with former Cars frontman and renowned music industry legend Ric Ocasek, who has also helped hone such iconic records as The Blue Album by Weezer. In addition to working with such amazing producers for the new album, the band enlisted such indie scene luminaries as Max Bemis of Say Anything, Rachel Minton of Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer, and Shawn Harris of The Matches for a few feature guest spots. The sessions in New York cap off a tremendous two-year-run for the band: According to Billboard magazine the band is currently the biggest selling rock act on Epitaph Records, and they were selected by Alternative Press to grace the cover of the highly coveted Most Anticipated issue (out December 2006). Rolling Stone featured them as an "Artist to Watch" (November 2005). The band and the record were highly praised in the biggest European media. UK´s Big Cheese called them: "one of those bands you have to see before you die" (August 2005). Kerrang! gave the review their highest score and called Commit This To Memory "a fantastic record". On their headlining tour in Europe the band went out selling out the big venues (Astoria London, Academy/Manchester, etc...) in UK and mainland Europe including two sold out London shows in one day. Motion City Soundtrack will play at "Give It A Name" Festivals in UK, Germany and France and several other European festivals in April 2007. zote	23.03.2007 - 17:00 Uhr Die Zweite nutzt sich schneller ab.Bei der Ersten dauert es länger bis die Songs zünden.Ich würde beiden eine 7/10 geben.Bin mal gespannt was da als nächstes kommt.

MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK ENTER THE BILLBOARD CHARTS AT #16 Motion City Soundtrack´s "Even If It Kills Me" is the highest independent chart debut in The Billboard Top 200 this week and # 1 in the Billboard´s Top Independent Albums. It is the highest album chart entry for Epitaph Records in the history of the label. Amsterdam, September 27th 2007 Acclaimed pop rockers Motion City Soundtrack enter the Billboard charts at #16 this week with their third full length "Even If It Kills Me". The album which was released September 17th in the United States and Europe through Epitaph Records, sold over 33.000 copies in the first week. Following the band`s sophomore album "Commit This To Memory", which sold over 300.000 copies worldwide, the Minneapolis quintet have achieved the highest chart debut in the label´s history. zote	27.09.2007 - 20:16 Uhr Also die ersten 3 Songs sind Hammer.Album nimmt aber zum Ende hin ein wenig ab.Aber einige Songs brauchen eine Weile.War am Anfang derbe enttäuscht,aber das Ding wächst.

Daharka	24.10.2007 - 12:32 Uhr Ich hab ja echt ein faible für poppunk aber das album langweilt einfach nur, das einzig gute was die noch haben ist den schrägen sänger und seine recht charakteristische stimme...

Vermisse irgendwie eine Begründung warums nicht mehr Punkte geworden sind. Das gleiche habe ich mir auch gedacht.Liegt wohl einfach daran, das es einfach nichts neues mehr ist und schon die 3te Platte der Band, keine Ahnung. Die Platte ist gut, aber ich finde bis jetzt auch ihre schwächste.Für mich auch bis jetzt bei 6-7/10.
Petr	02.11.2007 - 17:19 Uhr wirklich schönes Album!! war erst enttäuscht, aber dann recht schnell eines besseren belehrt, wunderbar, und meines Erachtens zumindest besser als der Vorgänger "Commit this to Memory", das Debut war halt ein Klassiker, mal sehen, ob das dieses Album auch noch schafft... aktueller Liebling: It had to be you das rührt mich irgendwie total.. ;)
solea	29.07.2009 - 15:05 Uhr finde das Album nach wie vor nicht übel. Die haben ein gewisses etwas, dass sie von der 0815 PopPunkmasse abhebt. Das Debutalbum war zugegebenermaßen noch geprägter von diesem individuellen Stil. Gerade jetzt bei schönem Wetter macht mir das Album aber durchaus Spaß!
