Zefix..war mir nicht bewusst, dass China Girl vom ebenfalls großen Iggy ist wie auch Wild is the Wind ein Cover ist, aber eben alles perfekt. |

Ist China Girl nicht ein Cover von Iggy Pop?! Mir gefällt aber Bowies Version auch besser.
"China Girl" haben DB und Iggy – wie das komplette Album "The Idiot" (und dann auch "Lust for Life") – gemeinsam geschrieben, als sie 1976 und '77 Berlin unsicher gemacht haben.
Speziell "The Idiot" (produziert auch von Bowie, der einen großen Teil der Instrumente auf dem Album spielte) und "Heroes" sind ja quasi Zwillingsalben, wie auch die die Cover-Fotos recht deutlich zeigen.
Ich finde eigentlich total spannend, wie Iggys und Bowies Version total unterschiedliche Aspekte ein und des selben Songs herausarbieten. |

Bei mir konkurrieren Width of a Circle und All the Mad Men seit Jahren hart miteinander. Vielleicht hat All the Mad Men (momentan) die Nase (minimal) vorne. Und möglicherweise stehe ich damit allein auf weiter Flur, aber 5:15 The Angels Have Gone steht bei mir auch hoch in der Gunst. Dann noch Rock'n'Roll Suicide.
Als Alben insgesamt sind Ziggy, Low, Heathen, Blackstar meine Favoriten. |

Brian Eno ist auch immer eine Erwähnung wert. Zunächst bei drei der angesehensten Alben von Bowie und dann bei dreien von U2 die Hände als Produzent im Spiel. |
