The style and sound was totally unique and created soundscapes that made the band one of the most thrilling of their era. Few people have invented a new sound and opened the possibilities of the guitar and yet somehow made it into a kind of pop/noise – jagged and dissonant but also compelling and melodic – his guitar was a gamechanger and changed the perception of what could be done with a guitar and rock music itself. So whatever happened to him? He left the Banshees, but he didn’t stop playing. ‘Sixes And Sevens’ is a collection of unheard archival material from the period right after he fled The Banshees. Every song is as intense and brilliant and intoxicating as his best stuff with the Banshees. ‘Sixes And Sevens’ is the lost treasure from the post-punk era.
