Hell Is For Heroes Release First New Music In 15 Years
Hell is For Heroes are back. Like, really back.
After calling it a day in 2008, and then returning for a handful of shows in 2018, the heroes of early British rock have shared their first new music in 15 years.
And it is absolutely ace.
It’s called ‘I Should Never Have Been Here in the First Place’ and was produced by Hundred Reasons Larry Hibbitt. It is a free-flowing, atmospheric, rousing piece of heart-on-sleeve brilliance that ripples with the energy and electricity that made the band such a mainstay. It’s as much a return to their roots as it is a look to the future, and it is all ever so exciting.
Vocalist Justin Schlosberg had this to say about it:
“It’s taken us the best part of 15 years to get back in the studio and a lot has changed. But making music with friends is still a special kind of fun just as it always was, and we can’t wait to play them live (as well as the old songs). Not to oversell it, but we’re reasonably certain the forthcoming tour with Hundred Reasons and My Vitriol will be beyond epic.”

Freue mich.. Überraschend wiedererkennbar nach 15 Jahren
"Neon Handshake" ist ein tolles Album, und die Nachfolger waren auch nicht ohne, auch wenn vor allem das selbstbetitelte komplett unterging

Mit denen hab ich ja schon gar nicht mehr gerechnet:)
Neon Handshake war damals richtig super.
Ob ich das Album heute noch hören kann weiß ich aktuell nicht. Sollte ich mal wieder auflegen.
Der Gesang hat mich damals schon auf Albumlänge etwas gelangweilt.
Die Nachfolger hab ich nie gehört. |

wenn 'hundred reasons' auch noch wiedervauf den geschmack kommen, flipp ich total aus :-D

@didz bin mir nicht sicher, ob das Ironie war, aber Hundred Reasons veröffentlichen nächstes Jahr im Februar ebenfalls ihr erstes Album seit 15 Jahren :D

nein, wars nich...ich hab das tatsächlich total verschlafen. leute, was hier los :-D
hach, der song is toll, freu mich wie blöd grad. sound is auch angenehm irgendwo zwischen 'neon handshake' und 'transmit disrupt'.
der sound vom dritten war mir fast schon zu krachig und rau.

Ich dachte schon, ich wär im Threadtitel zu optimistisch gewesen und sie belassen es bei den 2 Singles, aber anscheinend kommt da noch was...
The Fabulous Five are back! Formed in the early 2000s on a dingy West London industrial estate, Hell is for Heroes stole their name from an old Steve McQueen war movie and quickly found themselves in the middle of a 'scene' which some journalists were given to call a "British rock renaissance".
Having proudly given that the kiss of death and after 3 acclaimed albums the band took some time out - around 15 years - before releasing two new songs last year, both premiered on the Radio 1 Rock Show and rapturously received by audiences old and new. The band were so shocked by this they broke with tradition and waited only a year before going back in the studio.
The result promises to be nothing short of a spell-binding new release and a headline stint around the UK in April 2024. |
